New York- The National Hockey League (NHL) made history by announcing the branding and logo for the 2026 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series game, which will take place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on February 1, 2026, between the Boston Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning. The exhibition match is the first NHL game to be played outside in a football stadium in Florida.
The NHL releases their logo as the Tampa Bay Lightning are ready to play the Boston Bruins outside.
Tampa Bay’s long history of piracy serves as the inspiration for the 2026 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series’ new graphic identity. The NHL’s Creative Services Department and Fanbrandz collaborated to create the logo, which features a faded sail and a styled typography resembling a treasure map. A subtle nod to the home team, the Tampa Bay Lightning, is included in the sail in the form of a lightning bolt, which gives the design a distinctively local feel.
The Boston Bruins vs. Tampa Bay Lightning Stadium Series game is only one of many hockey events taking place in Florida. The increasing popularity and presence of the sport in the area is strongly supported by both outdoor competitions.
With its debut at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles in 2014, the Stadium Series seeks to bring hockey to unconventional outdoor settings. Since then, North American fans have come to love the series. Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio hosted the 2025 series, while MetLife Stadium in New Jersey hosted the 2024 series.
