Bhubaneswar : Deepti Sharma has climbed to the second spot in the ICC Women’s T20I bowling rankings and is now just eight rating points behind the top-ranked bowler, Pakistan’s Sadia Iqbal. This is the closest Deepti has come to the No. 1 position in her career. Her recent rise follows a strong performance, notably a three-wicket haul in the third match of India’s five-game T20I series against England. Deepti overtook Australian pacer Annabel Sutherland to reclaim second place. With two matches left in the series, continued strong performances could see her become the top-ranked T20I bowler for the first time.
Deepti has consistently been among the top 10 T20I bowlers for most of the past six years but has never held the No. 1 spot before. Her recent form and consistency have put her on the verge of this career milestone
