Jakarta, June 8, 2025 — The 2025 Indonesia Open concluded with standout performances from Denmark’s Anders Antonsen and South Korea’s An Se-young, both of whom emerged victorious in the men’s and women’s singles finals respectively. Hosted at the iconic Istora Senayan in Jakarta, the tournament once again delivered on its reputation as one of badminton’s premier stages.

Anders Antonsen Claims First Indonesia Open Title

Anders Antonsen clinched his maiden Indonesia Open crown after an impressive display throughout the week. In the final, he defeated Taiwan’s Chou Tien-chen in straight games, 22–20, 21–14. This win marked a major milestone in the Dane’s career, as he overcame a tough draw that included a come-from-behind victory over China’s Shi Yuqi in the semifinals (9–21, 21–18, 21–19).

Antonsen’s ability to stay composed in high-pressure moments, especially against higher-ranked opponents, signals a significant return to form. His win in Jakarta is his first Super 1000 title in over two years and positions him strongly for the rest of the BWF season.

An Se-young Secures Third Super 1000 Title of 2025

South Korea’s An Se-young continued her remarkable season with a third Super 1000 title, defeating China’s Wang Zhiyi in a three-game thriller: 13–21, 21–19, 21–15. Despite trailing significantly in the second game, An staged a commanding comeback and maintained her dominance in the decider with relentless accuracy and court coverage.

The reigning Olympic champion had earlier defeated Akane Yamaguchi in straight games in the semifinals, underlining her consistent excellence at the highest level. With this victory, she adds the Indonesia Open to her growing 2025 title collection, alongside wins at the Malaysia Open and the All England.

Doubles Highlights

In the doubles categories, several new names made their mark:

Men’s Doubles: South Korea’s Kim Won-ho and Seo Seung-jae came from a game down to beat Indonesia’s Sabar Karyaman Gutama and Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani 18–21, 21–19, 21–12.

Women’s Doubles: China’s Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning edged Malaysia’s Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan in a hard-fought final, 23–25, 21–12, 21–19.

Mixed Doubles: French pair Thom Gicquel and Delphine Delrue secured their biggest title to date by overcoming Thailand’s Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Supissara Paewsampran 21–16, 21–18.
