KSCA Distances Itself from IPL 2026 Ticket Resale Row

KSCA Distances Itself from IPL 2026 Ticket Resale Row

The Karnataka State Cricket Association has firmly distanced itself from the ongoing investigation into alleged resale of tickets during the Indian Premier League 2026, asserting that it has no connection with the entities or individuals under scrutiny.

No Role in Ticket Sales

In an official clarification, KSCA stated that it is neither the ticketing authority nor the selling agency for matches involving franchises like Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Ticket sales to the public are handled exclusively through authorised franchise channels and designated partners.

The association emphasised that it only receives a limited quota of tickets, which are distributed among affiliated clubs, members, and certain government bodies—not sold commercially to fans.

Probe into Black Market Network

The controversy stems from a police probe in Bengaluru, where authorities uncovered an alleged racket involving the illegal resale of match tickets at inflated prices.

Investigations suggest that tickets were sourced through bulk corporate allocations and online channels, before being diverted into the black market via intermediaries. Several individuals have been arrested, with more suspects under the scanner.

KSCA Rejects Any Link

KSCA has categorically denied any direct or indirect association with those involved, stating that:

  • None of the accused are members of the association
  • The organisation has no role in public ticket distribution
  • The entities under investigation have no affiliation with KSCA

The body reiterated that allegations linking it to the racket are misplaced and unfounded.

Full Cooperation Assured

Despite distancing itself, KSCA has assured complete cooperation with investigating agencies, urging authorities to conduct a thorough inquiry and take strict action against those responsible.

Bigger Concern for IPL Ecosystem

The case has once again highlighted loopholes in corporate ticket allocations and secondary resale channels, raising concerns about transparency in one of the world’s biggest cricket leagues.

While the probe continues, KSCA’s clear stance seeks to separate the governing body from the controversy. However, the incident underscores the need for tighter regulation of ticket distribution systems in the IPL to curb black marketing and protect genuine fans.
