Leah Williamson has signed a new contract with Arsenal Women, extending her long-standing association with the Women’s Super League side.

The 29-year-old England captain has agreed a two-year deal, keeping her at the club where she has spent her entire career.

Lifelong Gunner

Williamson joined Arsenal’s academy at the age of nine and made her senior debut in 2014. Since then, she has made more than 250 appearances across all competitions.

During her time at the club, she has won the Women’s Super League, two FA Cups, four League Cups, the 2024-25 Champions League, and the Women’s Champions Cup in 2026.

Key figure for club and country

Williamson has also been central to England’s success, earning 67 caps since her debut in 2018. She captained the Lionesses to European Championship titles in 2022 and 2025, cementing her place as one of the leading defenders in the game.

Despite an injury-hit season, including a knee issue sustained after Euro 2025, she remains a crucial presence when fit.

Arsenal building for future

Her renewal follows new deals for Kim Little, Stina Blackstenius and Steph Catley, as Arsenal continue to strengthen their squad.

With Lotte Wubben-Moy impressing in defence during Williamson’s absence, the club now has strong depth at the back.

The new deal is seen as a major boost for Arsenal as they aim to build on recent European success and challenge for more silverware in the coming seasons.
