The Premier League 2025/26 season returned last weekend after the November international break. And Matchday 12 was packed with several stunning results and some key upsets. With the season heating up and games expected to come thick and fast, teams are coming to grasp with their injury list. With things pretty much in the balance after 12 matchdays, the table can take a topsy turvy ride. Teams will now need to balance it out as they are still coming to terms with injuries.

On the same note, we present the latest injury updates amid rising intensity in the Premier League.

Cole Palmer returns for Chelsea

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca confirmed on Friday that Cole Palmer is fit and available to start the Blues face league leaders Arsenal on Sunday. The forward has spent 10 weeks on the sidelines with a recurring groin problem. He was supposed to returning to action earlier but ended up missing two more games this week following an accident at home where he fractured his toe.

“He is available for both,” Maresca said to reporters at a press conference when asked if Palmer would feature on Sunday and if he were available from the start. “Good news for both. Everyone is happy, team-mates are happy [he is back]. The most important thing is that Cole is happy. Football players want to play games.”

Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard could face Chelsea and details of other absentees

Leandro Trossard went off injured in Wednesday’s 3-1 Champions League home win over Bayern Munich. However, he could still be involved in the top-two Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge. Manager Mikel Arteta said: “With Leo, there is another test today. We have to see how he is feeling. It doesn’t look much. We still have a few hours and we have to wait and see. There is a potential chance [he is available].”

Meanwhile, Arsenal will be without the likes of Kai Havertz, Viktor Gyokeres and Gabriel Jesus for Sunday’s Premier League trip. However, both Havertz and Gyokeres are expected to return at the earliest. Meanwhile, defender Gabriel will be out for some time.

Man City’s Rodri set to miss Leeds United clash

Manchester City midfielder Rodri last featured as a late substitute in the win over Bournemouth at the start of November but has not started a game since the October 1 draw against Monaco in the Champions League. Asked in Friday’s press conference whether Rodri could play on Saturday, Guardiola was unequivocal in his response. “Not yet. Not much further,” he said.

Manchester United to miss Cunha versus Crystal Palace

Manchester United will be without Matheus Cunha for a 2nd game running. The Brazilian missed the Matchday 12 clash against Everton and will now miss the Crystal Palace game. Manager Ruben Amorim hopes to have him back against West Ham next Thursday.  The United boss also said that the likes of Benjamin Sesko and Harry Maguire will take more time before returning from their injuries.

Alisson to feature for the Reds

Liverpool are set to see Alisson play against West Ham. The goalkeeper missed the midweek Champions League clash against PSV with illness. Hugo Ekitike is also set to feature and Florian Wirtz, who missed two games since the international break this month, could return to training before a call will be made.
