Promising golfer Aida surged into the lead at the IGU Maharashtra Ladies & Junior Girls Golf Championship after producing the only under-par round of the day in the tournament’s latest round.
Aida carded a brilliant one-under 71 to move ahead of Yogya by a single stroke in a closely contested leaderboard battle at the prestigious junior golf event. Her composed display under pressure helped her stand out as the lone player to finish below par during the round.
The youngster showcased consistency throughout the course, mixing steady putting with accurate approach shots to edge ahead in the standings. Yogya, meanwhile, remained firmly in contention after another solid performance that kept the title race wide open heading into the next round.
Several other young golfers also remained within touching distance, setting up an exciting finish in the championship organised under the banner of the Indian Golf Union.
The tournament has attracted some of the country’s top emerging female golfers and continues to serve as an important platform for identifying future stars in Indian golf.
