India’s young boxing contingent continued its impressive run at the Asian Under-15 Boxing Championships in Tashkent, with six Indian boxers securing places in the finals after dominant semifinal performances.
Apart from the finalists, seven other Indian pugilists finished with bronze medals, underlining the country’s growing strength and depth in youth boxing at the continental level.
Indian Boxers Deliver Strong Performances
India’s U-15 boys team produced several commanding victories across weight categories during the semifinal stage of the tournament in Uzbekistan.
Yash Kumar advanced to the final in the 33kg category after registering a convincing 5-0 win over UAE’s Kiyan Iqbal. Sastha Vasanth Ashok Kumar also impressed in the 37kg division, sealing victory by referee stoppage against Kyrgyzstan’s Aziretali Sanzharbekov.
The Indian squad showcased attacking boxing, composure, and technical discipline throughout the competition, continuing the country’s recent rise in youth-level international boxing.
Bronze Medals Highlight India’s Depth
While six boxers progressed to the finals, seven Indian athletes secured bronze medals after semifinal defeats, ensuring a strong overall medal haul for the contingent.
The performances reflect the growing grassroots development structure within Indian boxing and the increasing pipeline of talent emerging through junior programmes.
