AFC Bournemouth have suspended defender Alex Jimenez from first-team duties while the club investigates social media posts involving the player.
The 21-year-old right-back will not be part of Bournemouth’s squad for Saturday’s Premier League fixture against Fulham.
In an official statement, Bournemouth confirmed they were aware of posts circulating online and had launched an internal investigation into the matter.
The club stated that it understood the seriousness of the issue and would make no further comment while enquiries continue.
Jimenez Left Out Of Matchday Squad
Jimenez joined Bournemouth from AC Milan on loan before completing a permanent move in February on a contract running until 2031.
The Spaniard has become a regular part of Bournemouth’s squad this season, making 32 appearances across competitions.
One of his standout moments came in Bournemouth’s dramatic 3-2 victory over Liverpool, where he scored his first goal for the club.
However, the ongoing investigation has now led to his temporary removal from first-team involvement.
Club Yet To Provide Further Details
Bournemouth have not disclosed the exact nature of the social media posts being investigated.
The Premier League club also declined to indicate how long the investigation may take or whether further disciplinary action could follow.
Jimenez’s absence comes at an important stage of the season as Bournemouth prepare for their latest league fixture against Fulham.
