Fresh from their dramatic Olympic gold, Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Guillaume Cizeron are embracing a calmer mindset at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2026, saying they are “enjoying the program with a little bit less pressure.”
The French duo arrive in Prague as favourites after a season-defining Olympic triumph where they edged rivals by just 1.43 points, finishing with a winning total of 225.82—one of the standout scores of the year.
Relaxed mindset after Olympic storm
After the intensity and controversy of the Olympics, the pair are now focused on expression over expectation. As Cizeron earlier reflected on their journey, “we had such a special time on the ice… it’s incredible what we’ve been through.”
That shift is clear in Prague, where the duo are prioritising performance quality and connection rather than chasing perfection—an approach they believe could elevate their already elegant routines.
Numbers, records and momentum
Since forming their partnership in 2025, Fournier Beaudry and Cizeron have built an extraordinary record:
Olympic champions (2026)
European champions (2026)
Multiple Grand Prix podium finishes
Their programs are known for technical precision, often earning Level 4 elements and scores above 220+, including a 222.43 total at Europeans earlier this season.
Eyes on first World crown
The championships, held from March 24–29 in Prague’s O2 Arena, mark the season finale and the most prestigious annual event in figure skating.
Despite their glittering résumé, one title is still missing—the World Championship. With several top rivals absent and momentum on their side, the French pair now have a golden opportunity.
Skating free of pressure but full of confidence, Fournier Beaudry and Cizeron are no longer just chasing medals—they are shaping a legacy. And if their relaxed rhythm translates onto the ice, Prague could finally deliver their long-awaited World crown.
