In a major boost ahead of their high-stakes UEFA Champions League clash, Kylian Mbappé has returned to the Real Madrid squad, while Jude Bellingham remains unavailable despite making the trip.
The French superstar, who had been sidelined with a knee issue, is now back in contention just in time for Madrid’s decisive encounter against Manchester City. His return adds firepower to an already formidable attack featuring the likes of Vinícius Júnior and Rodrygo.
“Having a player like Mbappé back changes everything,” a source close to the squad noted. “He brings pace, confidence, and that big-game mentality.”
However, Madrid will have to cope without Bellingham on the pitch. The English midfielder, one of the club’s standout performers this season, is still recovering from a hamstring problem. Though he travelled with the squad, the coaching staff have decided not to risk him in such a crucial fixture.
“It’s about the long term,” the manager reportedly insisted. “Jude is important, but we won’t take unnecessary chances.”
Madrid head into the clash with a commanding first-leg advantage, having dominated City earlier with a clinical display. Historically, Los Blancos have thrived in such situations—boasting a record 14 Champions League titles, more than any other club in Europe.
For City, led by Pep Guardiola, the challenge is steep. Overturning a heavy deficit against a side reinforced by Mbappé will require something extraordinary. Yet, with stars like Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne, the English champions still carry hope.
As the lights shine brightest on Europe’s grandest stage, all eyes will be on Mbappé—back, fit, and ready to influence another defining Champions League night.
