Manchester City kept the Premier League title race alive with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Leeds United, moving within two points of leaders Arsenal after another crucial win in the Premier League.
The only goal of the match came in first-half stoppage time when forward Antoine Semenyo scored from close range to seal City’s fourth consecutive league victory and maintain pressure on Arsenal at the top of the table.
Leeds started strongly and created several early chances, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin going close twice, but City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma produced important saves to keep the visitors level.
City gradually took control of possession and found the breakthrough just before half-time when Semenyo finished off a quick attacking move to register his sixth goal for the club since joining in January.
Leeds pushed hard for an equaliser late in the match, with substitute Jaka Bijol coming close with a header, but City held firm to secure three valuable points and stay firmly in the title hunt.
Liverpool score five against West Ham
In another match, Liverpool defeated West Ham United 5-2 with a dominant attacking performance.
Liverpool made history by scoring three first-half goals from corner kicks, with Hugo Ekitike, Virgil van Dijk and Alexis Mac Allister all finding the net before the break. The achievement matched a record previously set by Manchester United in 2016.
Van Dijk’s goal was his 28th in the Premier League, second only to former Chelsea captain John Terry among central defenders.
Liverpool continued their strong form with the win, registering their sixth victory in the last seven matches in all competitions.
