Eighteen-year-old Kai Trump, granddaughter of former US President Donald Trump, shared a major health update as she looks ahead to returning to competitive golf after undergoing wrist surgery.
In a heartfelt social media announcement, the high-school senior revealed she had surgery on her left wrist to repair injuries to the stabilising tissues around her ECU tendon and the triangular fibrocartilage complex — common areas stressed by repeated golf swings. The procedure was performed by Dr. Thomas Graham at the Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute, and Trump said it was successful.
“Today, I underwent left wrist surgery … I look forward to my rehab ahead in the coming months. I am excited for the ability to play golf pain-free!” Trump wrote on Instagram, expressing optimism about her recovery.
Kai, who recently made her LPGA Tour debut at The Annika event in November, faced challenges during her first professional outing but took the experience in stride. She is set to continue her golf journey as part of the University of Miami’s golf team, where she plans to play collegiately starting this fall.
Family and supporters have flooded her posts with well-wishes, and the young athlete says she’s focused on returning stronger, aiming to compete without pain and continue building her promising golf career.
