Bali, Indonesia – Indonesia’s Gede Priandana produced a moment that will be remembered in cricket folklore, becoming the first bowler in the history of T20 Internationals to take five wickets in a single over. The astonishing feat came during the first T20I between Indonesia and Cambodia in Bali.
Bowling with pace and precision, Priandana tore through Cambodia’s batting order, finishing the over with figures of 5 wickets for just 1 run. The spell included a hat-trick, and due to a wide, the over stretched to seven deliveries — each ball adding to the drama.
Cambodia, chasing 168, were placed at 106/5 when Priandana was introduced. What followed was a sudden collapse, as the Indonesian pacer single-handedly turned the match on its head. Cambodia were eventually bowled out, and Indonesia won by 60 runs.
According to NDTV Sports, Priandana’s achievement is a world first in international T20 cricket, with no men’s or women’s cricketer previously managing five wickets in a single over at this level. NDTV further reported that while similar feats have occurred in domestic T20 leagues, this was unprecedented on the international stage.
Earlier in the match, Indonesia posted a strong total, powered by a brilliant 110 by Dharma Kesuma*, which laid the foundation for the victory and set the stage for Priandana’s historic over.
In one unforgettable spell, Gede Priandana didn’t just win a match — he etched Indonesia’s name into the global cricket record books.
