As the second season of the Hero Women’s Hockey India League (HIL) prepares to kick off on 28 December 2025, two homegrown stars from Jharkhand — Sangita Kumari and Beauty Dung Dung — are eagerly looking forward to representing their home franchise, Ranchi Royals, in front of their local crowd.
Both players made their India debuts in 2021 and have since been key contributors on the international stage, with Sangita scoring 30 goals and Beauty adding six. Playing in their hometown adds extra meaning for them, especially with passionate support expected from Ranchi’s hockey-loving fans and the chance to have family in the stands.
They also highlighted the importance of the Hero HIL as a platform where young Indian players can compete with and learn from top international talents. For both, the opportunity to share the field with experienced overseas stars — including Argentine Olympians — is a valuable step for their growth and for elevating women’s hockey overall.
The season opener for the Ranchi Royals will see them face the SG Pipers on 28 December, with all Hero HIL matches broadcast live on Sony Sports channels and streamed online.
