Ganapathy Shines With a Six-Under 66
Rising Bengaluru golfer Veer Ganapathy surged to the top of the IGPL UAE leaderboard after a superb six-under-par 66, taking his two-day total to 8-under 136 at The Els Club.
His round featured an eagle and four birdies, offset by just a single bogey — a display that showcased precision, calmness and maturity well beyond his years.
Urs, Kochhar and Gill in Joint Pursuit
Just two shots behind is a strong trio at 6-under 138:
-
Pranavi Urs, a Ladies European Tour regular and former IGPL champion
-
Karandeep Kochhar, known for his consistency and controlled aggression
-
Pukhraj Singh Gill, one of the longest hitters in the field
Urs carded a second straight 69, mixing five birdies with two dropped shots. Kochhar and Gill also delivered solid golf, keeping pressure firmly on the leader.
Chawrasia Slips but Stays in Contention
Day-one leader SSP Chawrasia, a former Indian Open champion, struggled to maintain momentum and posted a two-over 74. Despite the setback, he remains in the mix at 5-under 139, just three shots off the lead.
Close behind are proven names such as Gaganjeet Bhullar, Aman Raj, and young talent Raghav Chugh, ensuring that the chase pack remains tightly stacked.
A Dramatic Finish Awaits
Ganapathy’s flawless ball-striking and composure have put him in pole position, but the narrow margins behind him promise a fierce contest. With multiple top-tier golfers within striking distance, the IGPL UAE is set for a gripping finale where consistency, pressure-handling and clutch putting will decide the champion.
