New Delhi : Indian women’s wrestling is aiming high — and all eyes are on Antim Panghal. The 21-year-old, celebrated as one of India’s most promising wrestlers, says her full focus is on the upcoming Asian Games, vowing to give it her best shot.
Panghal competes in the 53 kg women’s freestyle category and has already created waves on the international stage. She is a two-time junior world champion and a two-time senior world championships bronze-medalist.
Her journey hasn’t been easy — she made her Olympic debut at Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, a test that she described as “unlike anything else,” following a tough first-round exit. Yet, rather than being discouraged, Panghal returned to training with renewed vigour, determined to bounce back stronger.
Now, with the Asian Games on the horizon, she is channeling all her energy into preparation. “Focus is on the Asian Games — I’ll give it my best shot,” she said, signalling her determination to bring home another medal for India.
If things click for Panghal, she could add more laurels to her already impressive resume — and further cement her status as a rising star in Indian wrestling.
