Two sensational hundreds and two major batting records in terms of fastest tons were attained in the 3rd and final Women’s ODI clash between India and Australia on Saturday, September 20. The series decider saw Beth Mooney hit a 57-ball century in Australia’s record score of 412/10. In response, Smriti Mandhana then smashed a 50-ball hundred. India went on to lose the contest (369/10) but Mandhana entered record books by smashing the 2nd-fastest ton in Women’s ODIs (by balls faced).
Mooney scores a 57-ball hundred in Australia’s record score
Mooney had the magic wand in her hand as she slammed a career-best 138. Notably, she reached her hundred off 57 balls.
Mooney’s knock was laced with 23 fours and a six. She consumed 75 balls and struck at 184. This was Mooney’s 4th ODI hundred and a 2nd against India.

However, Mandhana bettered Mooney’s record by getting to her hundred off just 50 balls. She ended up smashing 125 from just 63 balls with 17 fours and 5 sixes. Earlier, she reached her fifty off 23 balls.
