Bhubaneswar: India produced a clinical all-round performance to outclass Pakistan by seven wickets in a much-anticipated Asia Cup 2025 clash on Sunday. The victory, powered by Kuldeep Yadav’s sensational bowling and Suryakumar Yadav’s composed batting, strengthened India’s unbeaten run in the tournament.
Pakistan’s innings never fully settled after early wickets disrupted their momentum. Kuldeep Yadav turned the game decisively, claiming four wickets and dismantling Pakistan’s middle order. Sahibzada Farhan’s fighting 40 and a late cameo from Shaheen Afridi lifted Pakistan to 128, but the total proved insufficient against a confident Indian side.
In reply, India’s batting line-up showed maturity under pressure. Suryakumar Yadav led the chase with a poised unbeaten 47 off 37 deliveries, guiding India to victory with overs to spare.
After the match, Suryakumar dedicated the triumph to India’s armed forces. “This win is for all our armed forces who protect the nation every day. We also want to stand in solidarity with the victims of the recent Pahalgam tragedy. Every game is equally important for us, and we approach each one with the same focus,” said the vice-captain.
With this emphatic win, India asserted dominance over their arch-rivals and took another step toward securing a spot in the Asia Cup knockout stages. Pakistan, meanwhile, will have to regroup quickly to keep their campaign alive.
