Shymkent, Kazakhstan : Indian shooters made headlines at the Asian Shooting Championship in Shymkent, clinching top honors in the men’s skeet and 10m air pistol mixed team events.
Anantjeet Singh Naruka showcased nerves of steel to win his maiden Asian Championship gold in the men’s skeet, outshooting Kuwait’s Mansour Al-Rashidi with a final round score of 57/60. This follows Naruka’s silver at the previous edition, marking a new high for the shooter.
Meanwhile, the dynamic duo of Suruchi Singh and Saurabh Chaudhary powered India to bronze in the mixed team air pistol event. Their precise shooting in the final—scoring 17-9 against Chinese Taipei—secured India’s place on the podium. The pair had earlier qualified fifth, bolstered by Suruchi’s 292 and Saurabh’s 286 in qualification.
These victories have further cemented India’s reputation in the continent’s shooting sport, inspiring fans and young athletes alike as the nation’s shooters continue to rack up medals on the international stage.
