China : Rayansh Gupta, a Class 12 student from Sat Paul Mittal School in Ludhiana, brought immense pride to India by winning a gold and a silver medal at the 18th International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO 2025) held in Jining, China. Competing against 31 countries including the USA, Germany, Australia, Japan, and China, Rayansh excelled individually and also earned the prestigious GYM Reporter Award.
He was selected after clearing two rigorous rounds and underwent intensive training at a camp in Chennai. Rayansh also had the honor of being the captain of the Indian team and carried the national flag in the final round.
The Union Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India, lauded the Indian team’s overall performance, which included 7 medals and a special award. This achievement highlights India’s advancing strength in science education, research, and innovation. Rayansh’s success is celebrated not only as a personal triumph but also as a shining example of India’s young scientific talent on the global stage.
This accomplishment is a proud moment for Ludhiana, Punjab, and the entire nation.
