Carolina : Robbie Brewer, a celebrated short track racer with a career spanning over 35 years, tragically passed away at age 53 following a heart attack during a race at Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The medical emergency occurred as Brewer competed in the Sportsman division, causing him to lose control and crash nearly head-on into the front-straightaway wall with just four laps remaining in the first of two 20-lap features.
Known for his fearless driving style and sportsmanship, Brewer had an impressive record at Bowman Gray Stadium, with 311 total starts across Sportsman, Tour Type Modified, and Stadium Stock divisions.
