Bhubaneswar : On the first day of the 7th Indian Open Para Athletics Championship in Bengaluru, more than 262 para-athletes from across India competed. The event, held on July 11-12, 2025, is the final trial to pick the Indian team for the World Para Athletics Championships later this year.
Sumit Antil (Haryana) won gold in the Men’s Javelin Throw (F12 & F64) with a throw of 72.25 meters.
Manjeet (Haryana) got silver, and Pradeep Kumar took bronze in the same event.
Navdeep Singh (Haryana) won gold in the F40 & F41 Javelin with a throw of 42.63 meters.
Sundar Singh Gujjar (Rajasthan) won the Javelin F46 category with a throw of 64.53 meters.
Preeti Pal also won gold, but her event details are not specified in the available sources.
Other gold medalists included Simran and Deepthi.

The championship is important for selecting athletes for the upcoming World Para Athletics Championships and features many top para-athletes from India.
