ISSUE 17 | AUGUST EDITION

Dear Readers,

If there’s a will, there’s definitely a way! An athlete who is determined to clinch success, defeating the odds is sure to win. The road to victory can be challenging but consistent efforts and perseverance are sure to fetch success. In the 18th edition of SSI Fanzine, we bring you yet another tale of unflinching determination. In an exclusive interview with Eldoshe Paul the first Indian triple jumper to win gold at the Commonwealth Games we talk about the hurdles he faced and how he hopped over all those to become an overnight sensation from a lesser-known athlete, hailing from a remote hamlet in India’s southern state of Kerala. The Retro Spin page, which features articles from the era bygone, is dedicated to Ranjitsinghji, the Indian prince who played for England. He was the first Indian to score a test century. For enthusiasts of sports medicine, our experts have contributed articles on injury and recovery and strength exercises with the barbell. As a custom, this edition too has updates from the sporting world. We wish you a happy reading!
