India Dominates Day 2 at Taiwan Athletics Open 2025 with Five Gold Medals

Rohit Yadav, Annu Rani, Vithya Ramraj and others power India to a remarkable medal rush in Taipei

India’s Day 2 Medal Surge – At a Glance:

Rohit Yadav clinched gold in men’s javelin with a best throw of 74.42m, leading from the front in a field where no one crossed the 74m mark.

Annu Rani, back to top form, secured gold in women’s javelin with a throw of 56.82m, narrowly edging out Sri Lanka’s Lekamalage by less than a meter.

Vithya Ramraj stormed to victory in the 400m hurdles, clocking 56.53s—her third-fastest ever. She now looks firmly set for major international competitions.

Krishan Kumar emerged as the fastest in the men’s 800m, finishing with a championship-record 1:48.46, using a late kick to surge ahead in the final 100 meters.

Pooja, who won the 1500m on Day 1, completed a stunning double with gold in the women’s 800m. Her time of 2:02.79 was also a championship record.

In addition, India’s men’s 4×400m relay team—comprising Santosh Vishal, Dharamveer, Vishal TK, and Manu TS—delivered gold in 3:05.58, setting yet another meet record.

India’s Medal Tally After Day 2:

Gold Medals: 12 to 16 (conflicting early counts)

Silver Medals: At least 1 confirmed

Bronze Medals: Several across track and field events

Overall Standing: India tops the medal table at the 2025 Taiwan Athletics Open

What This Performance Means:

A commanding show of depth in talent, especially in middle-distance events, javelin, and relays.

Several performances met qualification benchmarks for future Asian and World Championships.

A strong indicator of India’s growing strength in athletics, with many athletes peaking in Olympic cycles.

The 2025 Taiwan Athletics Open will be remembered as a breakout moment for Indian athletics. With five golds in one day, and standout performances across the board, Team India has not only made a statement—it has set the tone for the rest of the season.
