Held once every four years, the Asia Cup Bridge Championships is regarded as one of the continent’s most prestigious events in the sport of bridge. The competition will feature men’s, women’s, mixed and senior team categories, along with open and mixed pairs events.
India enters the tournament with a strong legacy in the competition, having won 20 medals in previous editions. The host nation will also be allowed to field two teams in each category.
According to the organisers, the event is expected to further strengthen India’s reputation as a destination for international intellectual sporting events while also boosting Goa’s image as a global sports tourism hub.
The championship schedule includes qualification rounds from June 22 to June 25, followed by semifinals and finals on the concluding days. A special ‘Friendship Pairs’ event will also be organised on June 27 for all registered participants.
