Indian chess administrator Bharat Singh Chauhan has been re-elected as Chairman of the Commonwealth Chess Association (CCA), continuing his long association with the development of chess across Commonwealth nations.
Chauhan, who has played a major role in promoting chess events and strengthening international cooperation within the sport, secured another term during the association’s recent electoral process.
Under his leadership, the Commonwealth Chess Association has expanded participation in tournaments and increased opportunities for young players from emerging chess nations. His re-election is seen as a recognition of his contribution to the sport’s global growth.
Indian chess has experienced remarkable success in recent years, with several young Grandmasters making a strong impact on the international stage. Administrators believe stable leadership at the Commonwealth level will further aid the sport’s development.
