Football and music are set to create history together. FIFA has announced that global superstars Shakira, Madonna, and K-pop sensations BTS will co-headline the first-ever halftime show at the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final.
The spectacular performance will take place on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey during the grand finale of the expanded 48-team tournament. The show will be curated by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and produced in association with Global Citizen.
This marks a major milestone for the World Cup, which has never featured a dedicated halftime entertainment extravaganza on this scale before. The announcement has already sent waves of excitement across the football and music worlds.
Shakira, who previously delivered one of the most memorable World Cup opening ceremonies in 2010 and recorded the official song for 2026, brings her infectious Latin energy. Pop queen Madonna adds her legendary stage presence, while BTS — one of the biggest musical acts on the planet — brings massive global appeal, especially among younger fans.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino described the show as a celebration of football’s universal power to unite people. The halftime performance will also support the new FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, aiming to raise $100 million to improve access to quality education and football for children worldwide.
With over 500 million viewers expected for the final, this star-studded show is poised to be one of the biggest global entertainment events of the year.
