The Minnesota Vikings have bolstered their offense by signing veteran wide receiver Jauan Jennings to a one-year contract reportedly worth up to $13 million, including incentives.
Jennings joins Minnesota after spending five seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, where he emerged as one of the team’s most reliable targets in recent years.
Big Opportunity in Minnesota
The Vikings moved quickly to strengthen their receiving depth following the departure of Jalen Nailor and the retirement of veteran Adam Thielen.
Jennings is expected to slot in behind star receivers Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, giving Minnesota another physical and dependable option in the passing attack.
The 28-year-old wideout recorded 643 receiving yards and a career-high nine touchdowns during the 2025 NFL season despite battling injuries.
From 49ers Role Player to Key Weapon
Originally selected by the 49ers in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Jennings steadily built a reputation as a tough and clutch performer.
Across five seasons in San Francisco, he totaled 210 receptions, 2,581 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns.
Reports earlier in free agency suggested Jennings was seeking a larger role and a significant salary increase after becoming one of the top remaining unsigned receivers on the market.
Vikings Eye Strong 2026 Campaign
Minnesota are hoping Jennings’ arrival will help elevate the offense around young quarterback J.J. McCarthy and veteran Kyler Murray as the franchise aims to bounce back from a disappointing 2025 campaign.
The move is seen as a low-risk but high-upside signing for the Vikings, who continue reshaping their roster ahead of the 2026 NFL season.
