Pune: All eyes will be on the Pune Racecourse this Sunday as Redefined and Psychic Star prepare to lock horns in the much-anticipated R.W.I.T.C. Ltd. Trophy (Grade II). The event, organized by the Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC), has drawn some of the finest equine talent in the country, but the spotlight firmly rests on these two frontrunners.
Trained by Pesi Shroff, the talented filly Psychic Star has shown remarkable consistency in recent starts, combining speed and temperament to dominate her past few outings. Meanwhile, Redefined, a dark bay gelding with impressive staying power, has demonstrated both endurance and determination under pressure, setting the stage for a captivating face-off.
The 2,000-metre race for horses aged four years and above is expected to test stamina and strategy. Trainers have fine-tuned their charges through intensive workouts this week, with track observers noting sharp gallops from both camps.
“The form of Psychic Star has been outstanding, but Redefined has been improving with every run. It’s going to be a nail-biting finish,” said a senior turf analyst from the Pune circuit.
Other notable entries add depth to the race card, but punters and enthusiasts alike are predicting a two-horse battle for supremacy. Weather and track conditions at the Pune Racecourse are reported to be ideal for racing, further heightening anticipation.
The R.W.I.T.C. Ltd. Trophy continues to be one of the highlights of the season — a contest that celebrates the enduring spirit of Indian racing, with pride, prestige, and passion on full display.
Latest Update:
Ten runners have been declared for the race, with Redefined (trained by Prasanna Kumar) carrying 59 kg and Psychic Star (trained by Pesi Shroff) carrying 57.5 kg. Other strong contenders include Odysseus and Duke of Tuscany.
While Redefined returns to the track after an eight-month gap, his training performances have been promising. Psychic Star, meanwhile, comes in with a solid recent win over 1,800 metres and appears in peak form. Early betting trends show a slight edge for Psychic Star, but experts believe Redefined’s class could make it a photo finish.
The final verdict will unfold at the Pune Racecourse this Sunday, as racing fans await a thrilling showdown between two of the season’s finest horses.
