India’s Shubhankar Sharma moved to tied 15th after carding a four-under-par 67 in the third round of the Genesis Championship on the DP World Tour in South Korea on Saturday.

Sharma recovered from an early setback to finish the round strongly, taking his overall score to six-under par. He had returned scores of 72 and 68 in the first two rounds and will aim to improve his position in the final round.

Sharma stages recovery after early bogey

The Indian golfer dropped a shot on the third hole but bounced back with five birdies over the remaining 15 holes. His consistent recovery helped him remain within reach of a top-10 finish heading into the final day.

A strong final round could help Sharma climb further up the leaderboard in the tournament being played at Woo Jeong Hills.

Katsuragawa takes two-shot lead

Japan’s Yuto Katsuragawa surged into the lead after equalling the course record with an eight-under-par 63 in the third round. He moved to 13-under overall, establishing a two-shot advantage over South Africa’s Casey Jarvis, who carded a 70.

Katsuragawa began the day five shots behind the overnight leaders but produced an impressive run of birdies to take control of the tournament. His performance has also significantly improved his projected position in the Race to Dubai Rankings, strengthening his prospects of retaining his playing privileges for 2027.

Strong competition heading into final round

France’s Antoine Rozner was tied third at 10-under par, alongside South Korea’s Si Woo Kim, who continued his challenge with another solid round.

Spain’s Jorge Campillo, France’s Martin Couvra and New Zealand’s Ryan Fox were a further shot behind.

With one round remaining, Sharma will look to build on his third-round performance and finish the Genesis Championship strongly.
