World number one Luke Humphries and two-time world champion Gary Anderson booked their spots in the World Grand Prix quarter-finals, showcasing class and composure on an intense night of darts in Leicester.

Humphries, last year’s runner-up and 2023 champion, outplayed Krzysztof Ratajski 3–1 in a commanding display, averaging 95.58 and smashing six 180s after making a key adjustment mid-match.

“I went off at the break and said to myself, ‘You must be doing something different because you don’t play like this usually.’ So I slowed my throw down, started hitting trebles again,” Humphries said, reflecting on his turnaround.

His recalibration worked wonders, with the Englishman regaining his scoring rhythm and powering through in style to reach the last eight once again at the unique “double in, double out” format event.

Meanwhile, Gary Anderson made light work of Joe Cullen, producing a clean 3–0 victory. Cullen struggled throughout, averaging just 68.05 and managing only one leg.

“Joe was miles off tonight—his start cost him. My scoring came on at the end. It’s been a while since I’ve gone far in this tournament, but darts is still a joy—I still want to win,” said Anderson, who looks rejuvenated as he eyes another deep run.

Elsewhere, Danny Noppert stunned fourth seed Stephen Bunting 3–1 to secure his first quarter-final since 2021, while Cameron Menzies impressed with a 3–1 win over Rob Cross.

Wednesday’s Results:

  • Cameron Menzies 3–1 Rob Cross
  • Danny Noppert 3–1 Stephen Bunting
  • Luke Humphries 3–1 Krzysztof Ratajski
  • Joe Cullen 0–3 Gary Anderson

Thursday’s Matches:

  • Dirk van Duijvenbode vs Daryl Gurney
  • Jonny Clayton vs Luke Woodhouse
  • Luke Littler vs Mike de Decker (defending champion)
  • Gerwyn Price vs Josh Rock
