The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) has extended its high-performance partnership with the Inspire Institute of Sport (IIS) for another three years, ensuring the collaboration will continue until March 2029.
The renewed agreement will see the JSW Group-backed Olympic training centre continue working closely with India’s wrestling programme across the senior, junior and cadet categories.
Focus remains on high-performance development
As part of the extended partnership, IIS will continue integrating its expertise into national coaching camps and athlete development programmes.
The collaboration will cover key performance areas, including sports science, strength and conditioning, recovery management, performance analytics and advanced training methodologies. The objective is to provide Indian wrestlers with world-class support as they prepare for major international competitions.
The partnership has played a significant role in enhancing the country’s high-performance ecosystem, and both organisations will continue working together to improve athlete development at every level.
WFI confident of long-term benefits
WFI president Sanjay Singh welcomed the extension, saying the partnership has made a positive impact on the national wrestling programme.
“IIS’ expertise in athlete development and high-performance systems has added significant value to our national programme, and we believe this renewed partnership will further enhance the preparation and performance of our wrestlers across all levels,” Singh said in a statement.
With the agreement now extended until 2029, WFI and IIS will continue their joint efforts to strengthen India’s wrestling talent pipeline and improve the country’s competitiveness on the global stage.
