Nuno Espirito Santo will remain as manager of West Ham United following the club’s relegation from the Premier League.
Nuno held talks with West Ham’s senior management on Monday after the season ended, with both sides deciding to continue together despite having the option to part ways without compensation.
The club confirmed the decision in an open letter to supporters, stating that Nuno remains fully committed to leading the Hammers back to the top flight at the first attempt.
West Ham also pointed to Nuno’s successful spell with Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he guided the club to the Championship title in 2018 with 99 points.
West Ham target immediate Premier League return
The Hammers suffered relegation after a disappointing campaign that saw them struggle for consistency throughout the season.
Despite the setback, the club believe Nuno’s previous Championship experience can help stabilise the squad and mount a strong promotion challenge next season.
West Ham’s focus will now shift towards rebuilding the squad during the summer transfer window while preparing for life in the Championship.
