Olympic 100m champion Noah Lyles has begun training alongside Australian teenage sprint sensation Gout Gout, creating major excitement ahead of their upcoming appearances on the international athletics circuit.
Lyles recently shared footage of their training sessions in Miami and praised the 18-year-old Australian, describing him as a talented athlete with enormous potential.
The collaboration comes as Gout continues his rapid rise in world athletics following a remarkable 2026 season in which he broke the world U20 200m record with a stunning time of 19.67 seconds at the Australian Championships.
That performance pushed comparisons between Gout and sprint legend Usain Bolt even further, with the teenager clocking a faster 200m time at the same age than Bolt managed during his junior years.
Lyles, meanwhile, remains one of the dominant figures in global sprinting. The American star is the reigning Olympic 100m champion and a multiple-time world champion in both the 100m and 200m events.
According to reports, the pair are expected to face each other for the first time in competition during a highly anticipated 150m showdown at the Ostrava Golden Spike meet in Czechia on June 16.
Before Ostrava, both sprinters are also scheduled to compete at the Seiko Golden Grand Prix in Tokyo, one of the key early-season athletics events on the World Athletics Continental Tour.
Training footage shared online showed Lyles narrowly edging Gout during sprint drills, though many observers noted the Australian teenager’s raw speed and finishing strength remain his biggest weapons.
Gout has already established himself as one of the brightest young stars in athletics after breaking Australian records in both the 100m and 200m events this year.
Despite the growing hype, Gout’s coaching team has continued to carefully manage his development and competition schedule ahead of the World Athletics U20 Championships later this year.
The partnership between Lyles and Gout is now being viewed as one of the most fascinating storylines in world sprinting, with fans eagerly awaiting their first competitive clash on the track.
