India’s women golfers will once again look to leave their mark on the international stage as Pranavi Urs, Avani Prashanth and Vani Kapoor prepare to compete at the Amundi German Masters in Hamburg, Germany.
The prestigious tournament, part of the Ladies European Tour (LET), will be played at the demanding Green Eagle Golf Courses — widely regarded as one of the toughest layouts on the circuit because of its length, narrow fairways and punishing rough.
Pranavi Urs Carries Strong Momentum
Among the Indian contingent, Pranavi Urs enters the event with growing confidence after producing consistent performances on the European circuit over the past two seasons.
The Mysuru golfer enjoyed one of her best results last year when she finished tied-third at the Andalucía Open. She also has positive memories from Germany after securing a tied-24th finish at the 2024 edition of the tournament.
Her composed playing style and disciplined iron game are expected to suit the challenging Green Eagle layout, where patience and accuracy are likely to be crucial.
Experienced Vani Kapoor Eyes Breakthrough
Vani Kapoor will bring valuable experience to the tournament as she continues chasing stronger results on the international stage.
One of India’s most successful domestic golfers, Vani showed encouraging signs during last year’s German Masters when she briefly moved into the top 10 after an impressive second-round score of 70.
With partial LET status, every strong finish remains important for improving her rankings and securing additional opportunities on the tour.
Rising Star Avani Prashanth in Spotlight
Young Bengaluru golfer Avani Prashanth is another exciting Indian player to watch this week.
Avani turned professional after a highly successful amateur career that included representing India at the Asian Games and becoming the first Indian amateur golfer to win on the LET Access Series.
She had to withdraw from last year’s German Masters because of a dental issue despite showing promising form early in the tournament. Since then, Avani has gained valuable experience competing against stronger international fields and will be eager to make a bigger impact this time.
Strong International Field Awaits
The tournament will also feature several top international players, including Germany’s Esther Henseleit and Denmark’s Smilla Tarning Soenderby, both considered among the leading contenders this week.
For the Indian trio, the event presents another important opportunity to test themselves against elite competition while continuing India’s growing presence in women’s golf on the global stage.
