The Lionesses will host Ukraine in a Women’s World Cup qualifier at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Tuesday, 9 June (20:00 GMT).
England women’s national football team will become the first England side to play at Everton’s new ground since it opened last summer. The venue is also set to stage matches at UEFA Euro 2028 and has been shortlisted in the UK’s bid for the 2035 Women’s World Cup.
Head coach Sarina Wiegman said it was “very exciting” to take the team to Liverpool, highlighting the city’s strong football heritage and connection with the Lionesses.
Road to the 2027 World Cup
Two-time European champions England are bidding for a place at the 2027 Women’s World Cup. They are in Group A3 alongside Spain women’s national football team, Ukraine women’s national football team and Iceland women’s national football team.
England travel to face Ukraine next Tuesday (3 March, 17:00 GMT) before hosting Iceland at the City Ground on 7 March (12:30 GMT).
Their first meeting with Spain — whom they defeated in the Euro 2025 final — takes place at Wembley Stadium on 14 April (19:00 GMT).
The return fixture against Ukraine in June will mark a landmark occasion at Everton’s new home as England continue their qualifying campaign.
