Bangkok : Thailand’s leading telecom and digital services provider Advanced Info Service (AIS) has strengthened its sports broadcasting portfolio by securing media rights to the DP World Tour, further enhancing its golf offering for Thai audiences, according to SportBusiness.
The agreement will see AIS stream live DP World Tour action on its AIS PLAY platform, beginning with the Dubai Invitational, scheduled for January 15. The deal adds another major international golf property to AIS’s portfolio, which already includes rights to the PGA Tour and LPGA Tour, reinforcing its ambition to become a central destination for premium sports content in Thailand (SportBusiness).
Speaking on the expansion, Rungtip Jarusiripipat, Head of Entertainment at AIS, said the company aims to elevate its sports content offering by delivering world-class golf to Thai fans, as quoted by Thairath. She highlighted that premium live sports play a key role in AIS PLAY’s long-term growth strategy.
From the rights-holder’s perspective, DP World Tour Chief Revenue and Content Officer Richard Bann noted that Thailand represents a strong and growing golf market in Asia and expressed confidence that the partnership with AIS would help broaden the Tour’s reach in the region, according to Thairath.
With the addition of the DP World Tour, AIS PLAY subscribers will now have access to a comprehensive slate of elite global golf events through various subscription packages, underlining AIS’s push to position itself as a leading sports streaming platform in Southeast Asia (SportBusiness).
