Local star Tanvi Patri has electrified the 37th National Sub-Junior Badminton Championship held at the Dalmia Bharat Gopichand Badminton Excellence Centre (Shuttle) within the Kalinga Stadium Complex, by securing a spot in the finals of both the Girls’ Singles Under-15 and Under-17 categories.
The fifth day of the prestigious tournament saw all final line-ups determined across both age groups, setting the stage for a thrilling finale tomorrow, December 6th.
Odisha’s own Tanvi Patri delivered a high-calibre performance to ensure her dual final appearances.
In the Girls’ Singles U-15 semi-final, Patri defeated Hamsini Chadaram of Telangana in straight games with scores of 21-12, 21-19. She will face Avani Vikram Govind of Telangana in the final, who overcame Inayat Gulati of Punjab (21-14, 21-13).
Tanvi continued her dominant form in the Girls’ Singles U-17 semi-final, displaying class to beat Hasana Shree of Andhra Pradesh 21-11, 21-4. She is set to clash with Deeksha S.R. of Tamil Nadu in the final.

The local success extended to the doubles category, where the Odisha pairing of Swati Nayak and Nimisha Ojha fought hard to reach the Girls’ Doubles U-15 final. The pair defeated Nayonika A. and Dhanya S.J. of Tamil Nadu in a three-game thriller: 21-16, 9-21, 21-12.
They will face the Maharashtra duo, Sarayu Ranjane and Soyara Sellare, who defeated a Tamil Nadu pair in the other semi-final (21-14, 21-12).
Nilin Kumar, Secretary of OSBA and the Organising Committee, confirmed that all final matches for the National Championship will be held tomorrow, December 6th.
