Pakistan took an unassailable 2-0 lead in three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. The 2nd ODI in Rawalpindi saw Pakistan beat the visitors by an 8-wicket margin. Pakistan chased down Sri Lanka’s target of 289 with 10 balls to spare and eight wickets in hand.
The victory was largely due to Babar Azam’s stellar performance, who scored his first international century since August 2023. He remained unbeaten at 102 off 119 balls, his 20th ODI ton overall. This innings also saw him equal Saeed Anwar’s record for most hundreds (20) for Pakistan in ODIs.
Babar was part of 2 century-plus stands alongside the likes of Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Rizwan.
Notably, Babar became the 3rd-fastest to 20 ODI tons in terms of innings.
