The San Antonio Spurs continued their impressive opening to the NBA season, securing a fourth straight win with a 121-103 victory over the Toronto Raptors at Frost Bank Center. It marks the franchise’s best season start since the 2017-18 campaign and another strong performance from rising star Victor Wembanyama.
Spurs Stay Hot As Wembanyama Shines Again
Wembanyama finished with 24 points as San Antonio kept momentum throughout the night. The Spurs have now won all four of their opening fixtures, showing encouraging signs in the early weeks of the season.
The Oklahoma City Thunder also preserved their flawless record with a tense 101-94 win over the Dallas Mavericks. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way with 23 points as the Thunder recovered after seeing a 22-point advantage reduced to just one late in the fourth quarter.
Markkanen Explodes For Career-Best Night
In Salt Lake City, Lauri Markkanen delivered a standout performance to push the Utah Jazz past the Phoenix Suns 138-134 in overtime. His career-high 51 points made him the first Jazz player since Karl Malone in 1998 to score 50 or more in a regular-season game.
Elsewhere, Tyrese Maxey put up 43 points as the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Orlando Magic 136-124 to claim a third successive win — a result made more impressive with Joel Embiid sidelined due to a knee injury.
