Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal has ignited pre-Clásico tension after accusing Real Madrid of “stealing and complaining” during a Twitch chat with Gerard Piqué on the Kings League channel.
According to Marca, Yamal’s comments — “Yes, they steal, they complain, they do things I don’t even know” — have caused anger and disbelief inside Madrid’s Valdebebas training base. The remarks, just days before Sunday’s El Clásico at the Santiago Bernabéu, have been described by Madrid players as “poor sportsmanship.”
Many in Madrid’s camp see irony in Yamal’s jab, pointing to the Negreira case, which links Barcelona to payments to a former referee official. Still, his comments have reportedly fueled Madrid’s motivation, especially after last season’s four defeats to Barça.
Sources say the young winger’s remarks created unease during Friday’s training, with players determined to answer on the pitch.
Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappé, named Madrid’s Player of the Month, stoked the build-up further, calling El Clásico “the most special game in the world.”
“We don’t just want to play it — we want to win,” Mbappé declared, as Real Madrid chase top spot in LaLiga.
