Indian shooter Zoravar Singh Sandhu delivered a performance of grit and precision to clinch the bronze medal in the men’s trap event at the ISSF World Championship Shotgun 2025 held in Athens, Greece.
Battling tough weather and tricky light conditions, Zoravar showcased remarkable composure, hitting 31 of 50 targets in the final to secure third place behind Croatia’s Josip Glasnovic and Spain’s Andres Garcia.
The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) President Kalikesh Singh Deo hailed the achievement as a historic milestone for Indian shooting, applauding Zoravar’s dedication and the guidance of coach Peter Wilson and his support team.
This marks India’s third-ever medal in men’s trap at the Shotgun World Championships — following Manavjeet Singh Sandhu’s gold in Zagreb (2006) and Karni Singh’s silver in Cairo (1962).
Zoravar’s achievement not only revives India’s proud trap-shooting legacy but also signals a new era of excellence for the nation’s shotgun sport on the world stage.
