Political turmoil in Nepal has compelled organisers to drop Kathmandu as the neutral venue for the inaugural Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup for the Blind, scheduled to be played in India from November 11 to 25. Officials are now exploring an alternative location to host matches involving Pakistan.
Tournament spread across two Indian cities
The landmark competition will primarily take place in New Delhi and Bengaluru. Seven nations – Australia, England, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and the USA – are set to compete in the two-week event.
Pakistan to play at neutral venue
As per the tournament’s arrangements, Pakistan will not play its matches in India and was initially slated to be based in Kathmandu. With Nepal ruled out due to instability, the organisers are considering other neutral venues to accommodate Pakistan’s fixtures.
