India Dominates UAE with Clinical Bowling to Win Asia Cup 2025 Opener

Bhubaneswar : In their opening match of the Asia Cup 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, India showcased an impressive bowling performance to bowl out the United Arab Emirates for just 57 runs, marking UAE’s lowest score against India in T20 cricket. Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, India’s bowlers, led by Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav, and Arshdeep Singh, dismantled the UAE batting line-up with tight lines and varied deliveries.

Bumrah was exceptional, taking three wickets for 22 runs in four overs, including a crucial yorker to send Sharafu back early. Kuldeep’s mystery spin bamboozled the UAE batsmen, claiming two wickets including Asif Khan, who fell to a deceptive googly. Arshdeep contributed with two wickets as well, helping India completely dominate the field. The UAE struggled to build partnerships and their batsmen were frequently trapped in the crease or caught in tight fielding.

Chasing a modest target, India began steadily, guided by Shubman Gill and continued by Suryakumar Yadav, whose class and confidence stabilized the innings. Yadav’s fluent half-century steered India home comfortably, proving why they remain the defending T20 World Cup and Asia Cup champions. With this commanding victory, India sent a strong statement as the favorites in the tournament, keeping fans excited for the upcoming matches in Group A.

This clinical bowling display and confident batting under pressure reinforced India’s status as a powerhouse in Asia Cup cricket history, aiming to add another title to their record eight Asia Cup triumphs. Fans can look forward to India’s remaining group games against Oman and Pakistan with high expectations.
