Hangzhou :The Indian women’s hockey team continued their unbeaten streak at the Women’s Hockey Asia Cup 2025 by securing a crucial three points against South Korea in their first Super 4s clash on Wednesday. Having topped Pool B with seven points—powered by massive wins over Thailand (11-0) and Singapore (12-0) and a thrilling 2-2 draw against Japan—India demonstrated relentless attacking prowess and disciplined defense in the Super 4s stage.
Forwards Navneet Kaur and Mumtaz Khan have been the standout performers, each scoring five goals during the pool phase and continuing their scoring form against Korea. The win against Korea keeps India’s momentum alive as they gear up to face China and Japan next in this round-robin format. The top two teams will advance to the final, with India eyeing the continental crown to qualify for the 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup in Belgium and the Netherlands.
India’s head coach Harendra Singh praised his squad’s strong start and emphasized the tough challenge ahead, highlighting the need for consistency and composure in the Super 4s. With a focused defense and sharp attacking chances, India is poised for a significant push toward the Asia Cup title.
