Bhubaneswar : India Squanders Chances, Coach Calls for Composure
After a gritty 2-2 draw against Korea at the Hockey Asia Cup 2025 in Rajgir, India’s head coach Craig Fulton didn’t mince words. “We created enough to win the game,” said Fulton, adding, “If we create the same amount of chances in the next game, we will score three goals and that’s the truth.” The contest was a tale of two halves: India dominated with 23 circle penetrations to Korea’s 8 but missed multiple open chances and failed to convert six penalty corners.
Stressed Calmness and Finishing
Fulton stressed the need for composure under pressure, telling his squad, “We just have to look at it and make sure we do the job tomorrow.” He called for “calm and composure” as the key to changing outcomes, emphasizing that finishing chances — not just creating them — will be India’s ticket to conversion and victory in upcoming matches. Interestingly, despite their attacking prowess, India hasn’t managed to break through Korea’s deep defensive wall, making every missed opportunity feel more acute.
