Essen, Germany – Indian archers delivered a stellar performance at the World University Games in Germany on Friday, securing a gold, a silver, and a bronze medal in the compound archery team events. Their impressive showing has also set the stage for further medal contention in individual events on Saturday.

- One-Point Defeat: They came agonisingly close to the top spot, losing by just one point (231-232) to the Turkish team of Bauhan Akcaoglu, Yunus Emre Arslan, and Yakum Yildiz. India had held a three-point lead at the halfway mark (117-114), but a perfect 60 from Turkey in the third end helped them level and eventually edge past India in the final end.

- All-Indian Men’s Semifinal: In a promising development, Kushal Dalal and Sahil Jadhav are set for an all-India clash in the men’s individual semifinals on Saturday, guaranteeing at least one medal for India in that category.
- Parneet Kaur in Women’s Semifinal: Parneet Kaur will also be vying for an individual podium finish, as she faces South Korea’s Kim Sooyeun in her semifinal bout.
