Manchester, UK– Manchester City has announced a significant long-term extension to its kit partnership with sportswear giant Puma, a deal widely reported by British media to be worth an unprecedented £1 billion ($1.35 billion). This landmark agreement, revealed on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, is set to become the largest kit manufacturing deal in Premier League history, solidifying City’s financial power and global brand appeal.
Record-Breaking Financial Terms
The new contract, which extends the partnership for at least another 10 years, will reportedly see Manchester City earn a record £100 million annually. This substantially elevates their previous deal with the German manufacturer, signed in 2019, which was valued at £65 million per year. The new terms are expected to reset the financial benchmark for such agreements among English clubs, surpassing even Manchester United’s £900 million, 10-year contract with Adidas, signed in 2023.
On-Pitch Success Fuels Commercial Growth
The extension reflects Manchester City’s remarkable period of on-pitch success since 2020. During this time, the club has secured an impressive four consecutive Premier League titles and achieved a historic treble in the 2022-23 season. While they did not win a major trophy last season, their sustained excellence has clearly translated into immense commercial value.
The partnership between City and Puma, which began in the 2019-20 season, has fostered a period of significant growth for both entities, with City noting new global records for club kit sales. Ferran Soriano, chief executive officer of City Football Group, emphasized the symbiotic relationship: “We joined forces with PUMA with the ambition to challenge ourselves and go beyond the expectations. We have achieved this and more over the last six seasons.”
Manchester City is set to begin their 2025-26 Premier League campaign on August 16 with an away trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers, donning their newly-unveiled kits under this record-breaking agreement.
