India delivered a commanding performance at the second leg of the 2025 World Boxing Cup in Astana, finishing with an impressive 11-medal haul, including three golds by women boxers – Sakshi, Jaismine, and Nupur. This marks India’s best-ever showing in the prestigious tournament and a major step forward in its international boxing ambitions.

Golden Trio: Women Lead The Way
Sakshi (54 kg), Jaismine Lamboria (57 kg), and Nupur (+81 kg) each claimed gold medals with dominant displays in their respective weight categories.
Sakshi opened India’s gold medal tally with a unanimous 5–0 win over USA’s Yoseline Perez.
Jaismine followed up with a gritty performance in the 57 kg final, outboxing her opponent with tactical brilliance.
Nupur, fighting in the heavyweight division, added the third gold, overpowering her Kazakh rival to cap off a successful campaign for India’s women.
Close Contests: Silver For Meenakshi, Pooja, And Jugnoo
Meenakshi (48kg) fell narrowly short in the final against Kazakhstan’s Nazym Kyzaibay, losing by a close 3–2 margin.
Pooja Rani (80 kg) and Jugnoo (85 kg) settled for silver after hard-fought bouts, both losing by 5–0 against tough international opponents from Australia and Kazakhstan respectively.
Hitesh Gulia (men’s 70kg) and Abhinash Jamwal (men’s 65kg) signed off with with silver medals after losing their respective finals.
Bronze From Across The Squad
India’s medal count was rounded off by three bronze medals .
Sanju (women’s 60kg), Nikhil Dubey (men’s 75kg) and Narender (men’s 90+ kg) had signed off with bronze medals.
